Children’s ministry

At Pine Forest United Methodist Church, we truly believe children are our future. The Bible instructs us to teach God’s words diligently to our children so that they will have a foundation of truth in their hearts throughout their lives. We have named our children’s ministry, “Futures” and want to instill in our children a foundation for the future of the Church in our community as we build the leaders of tomorrow.

F -“Fear not: for I am with thee.”  Isaiah 43:5-8

U – “Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks.” Psalm 75:1

T – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

U – “Under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield.”  Psalm 91:4

R – “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8

E – “Even a child is known by his doings.” Proverbs 20:11

S – “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.” Matthew 6:33

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6: 5-9

The older a person gets, the less likely they are to accept the salvation of the gospel. It is important that we share our faith with children early and often in their lives.

As the scripture above instructs, we are to teach His words to our children, continually talk about them, and surround our homes with God’s eternal words. As these words supernaturally grow in our children’s hearts, we will be placing them on the only true path of peace, security and eternal life in Jesus Christ. A heart full of God’s truth; there is no better gift to give!
